Rockstar Games Reveal ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ PC Requirements

Rockstar Games confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on the PC on November 5th. It was then followed by a pre-order prompt where players can get their hands on the open-world Western via the Rockstar Games Launcher last Wednesday.

The PC version of the highly anticipated title will also be available on a variety of “digital retailers” including the Epic Games Store starting October 23.

With that said that done, RockStar Games revealed the title’s “technical, graphical and performance enhancements” en route to making the PC game the “ultimate version of Arthur Morgan.”

To start with, Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PC will support High-dynamic-range imaging (HDR) as well as 4K support and the ability to run high-end display setups, multi-monitor gaming, faster frame rates and more.

The updated version will have an updated Story Mode. This will include 3 new Bounty Hunter missions, 2 new Gang Hideouts and 2 new Treasure Maps. The “To The Ends of The Earth” mission will pit gamers to collect “requested herbs” in exchange for rewards.

There will also be new weapons, horses and trinkets, the article added.

Engadget explained that in order for Red Dead Redemption 2 to run on its minimum, a player’s PC must have at least an Intel Core i5-2500K or and AMD FX-6300 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a video card ranging from an Nvidia GTX 770 or an AMD R9 280.

To kick it up a notch (read: smoother gameplay), an Intel Core i7-4770K or and AMD Ryzen 5 1500X CPU is being recommended by Rockstar Games. In addition to this, there’s a 12GB RAM, an Nvidia GTX1600 or an AMD RX 480 graphics card requirement.

Read Dead Redemption 2 will haggle a ton of memory, so it’s best to keep an open mind and have 150GB of free space on your rig.

Rockstar Games said that Red Dead Redemption 2 will work on Windows 10 at best, but it’ll also do fine on a PC running on Windows 7 Service Pack 1.

They’ll have more on the new game soon, and it’ll include a novel 4K 60fps trailer.

Those who will pre-purchase the game via the Rockstar Games Launcher will receive two free titles from the developer’s catalog plus free upgrade to the game’s Premium Editions and a $20 discount on the Special and Ultimate Edition.
